The Charging Bull of Wall Street, Manhattan, New York City

"The Bull's head is lowered to the left and the bull has taken the pose to ravage anything in its path."

They say it symbolizes prosperity and aggressive financial optimism. My first look at the Charging Bull made me feel as if some one has paused as action movie.

Taming the beast
The sculpture by artist Arturo Di Modica is made of Bronze, about five meters long from head to tail and weighs 3,200 kilograms.

Fun fact: Tourists love to rub the bronze balls of Wall Street's Charging Bull statue as it is believed that it will bring them good luck.

'The Charging Bull' or the 'the Wall Street Bull' or 'the Bowling Green Bull' is a must visit place if you are in New York. It is located in Mahattan at the end of Broadway near the Bowling Green stop.

I have been to New York twice. Each time when I went to time the Bull was covered with tourists so could not get the solo shots. All I could manage to get with me and the Bull was the snap that you see below.

Next time, I will plan to be there in the early morning to get the full shots and update this entry.

While you are here, you can also visit nearby places such as the National Museum of American Indian, Battery Park and Statue of Liberty (read my blog).

Best time to visit: Any time of the year

How to reach: Arrive at the Bowling Green stop and exit the station, it is right there
